The Twitter account describes itself as an “airspace observer” that tracks “various [military] aircraft including heavy lift cargo moves, CIA flights, interesting spots” and more.
Both the United States and Israel have deployed warships to help Russia with the search. They are currently conducting sweeps of the site where the submarine was last seen.
This comes at a time when tensions between the U.S. and Russia are at an all-time recent high as both President Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin exchanged verbal insults towards each other.
U.S. President Joe Biden had some harsh words for Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with ABC host George Stephanopoulos Wednesday morning.
“He will pay a price,” Biden said during the interview. “We had a long talk, he and I. I know him relatively well and the conversation started off, I said, ‘I know you and you know me. If I establish this occurred then be prepared.’”
Stephanopoulos asked what kind of consequences we could expect. The president’s response: “The price he’s going to pay, well, you’ll see shortly.”
In response, Putin wished Biden “good health” and claimed he was saying it “without irony or jokes”:
